Miracle

This week’s prompt for One Single Impression is Miracle, provided by Geraldine of Take a Happy Break. It inspired me to write this haiku about the miracle of life:

Out here I feel your

blessed touch in bush and tree

Goddess, I believe…

Claimed By The Underground

~

Through window I stare

surrounded by loneliness

I see only me

~

Mirrored moves, in a

perfect choreography

of ungraceful dance

~

My gaze travels on

lured by the magnetic storm

that I feel, is you

~

Your eyes are aflame

tearing my soul into yours

and I stop breathing

~

Walls come crashing down

around my heart now is space

could it be, could it?

~

Lights flicker and die

and when I open my eyes

your vision is gone

The Muse

~

Candles

flames aflutter

in unseen currents

wrap their golden glow

around us

the Muse and I

float on a hint of music

where she is tempting me

luring me

in trance

my fingers stroke the keys

words alive in our minds

we create

A fury of shrillness

ruptures our haven

The Muse fades

startled

I call out to her

beckoning

and she returns

to fondle my ear

her whisper is faint

but I still hear her

eyes slightly unfocused

my hands resume

staccato rhythm

Again insistent sounds

pound on our bubble

shredding apart

what words remain

The Muse

translucent

hops onto my desk

crawls into a drawer

gently I try to lift her

but hazy eyes blink

she curls up

shimmers

gone

I curse, sigh

and pick up the phone

~

MUSE – prompted by

“The Muses in Greek mythology, poetry, and literature, are the goddesses who inspire the creation of literature, science and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge, related orally for centuries in the ancient culture, that was contained in poetic lyrics and myths.”

Made of thought and air

she floats into dreams, gently

wings into the haze

Feather light her touch

on your skin, she lingers soft

until the winds fade

Sour Grapes

~

sweetness, fulfill me

surpass this envy and bile

for I need to live

~

________________________________________________________________

‘Sour Grapes’ refers to pretending not to care for something one does not or cannot have. Sometimes writing in a different language is hard. Fortunately I researched the meaning of the expression ‘sour grapes’ before I launched into writing about bad wine…

Wrong

~

How can I be wrong

when stars light up in your eyes

whenever we meet

~

How can I be wrong

in bringing down my heart’s walls

my trust so complete

~

How wrong could I be

to pour in an endless well

I’m dehydrated

~
