In my quest for pink, I stumbled upon the Castle d’Oultremont. It was painted pink because of the role it played in the theme park Land van Ooit. 😀

I like arriving somewhere and taking a left when someone tells you to go right. When all the tourist signs are pointing one way, it’s exciting to go the other.

In July of last year, V-man and I visitited the beautiful Château de Carrouges in France. We love dwelling in and around old buildings, whether they are still intact or (preferably) in ruins. This one is in perfect condition!
The holiday mood was bright, and the sun was trying hard to peek around the clouds. When we stepped through the gate, my eyes beheld this warning:
All of a sudden, the terrorist threat became more real. A feeling of danger choked my throat. The image is in stark contrast with the next scene of a family, having a picknick in the garden of the same castle.
Stay warm, stay safe.

Soldiers, still keeping watch at the Moorish castle of Torres Vedras. They sure had balls. 😉
