And there is the headlight, shining far down the track, glinting off the steel rails that, like all parallel lines, will meet in infinity, which is after all where this train is going.

This week, show us renewal,
Jen H. asks us for the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge. And I’m happy to oblige, singing to the plants: “Wake up, wake up, Lord Winter has left and Lady Spring is awaiting you!”

Point your camera at something or someone that puts a smile on our face (or just show a smiling face),
is this week’s photo challenge. Isn’t this guy’s smile contagious? 😀

My sanctuary in Portugal: a simple wood cabin that has everything we need. Here I find peace to write, to have long conversations with my muse. To relax and read, far way from every day stress. The cabin is situated on a ridge and overlooks a wide valley. On a clear day, you can even see the ocean in the distance. Several picturesque villages are only a fifteen minute drive away, and the rough coast offers several hiking paths.
Can you see why it is my favorite place? And if you do, would you like to share a simple breakfast in the morning sun with me?

Erica created an interesting challenge this week: choose a photo that represents being just one in the crowd, being anonymous. Find a way to mask your subject.
The first photo shows a beautiful horse, but I wanted to capture the love of these two teenagers, taking care of it.

In the picture above, I tried a different technique. The subject of this photo is obvious, isn’t it? A huge yellow art statue is popping up from the earth. Still my eyes are drawn towards the child that is only partly visible.
I hope these photos do justice to the challenge.
