Dungeons, but no dragons

When dice have a mind of their own,

though the possibility is known,

still last weekend was absurd

and with death did we flirt.

The wench, courageous and undaunted,

with her fiery flail she flaunted.

Only to be put in place,

her cleric level back to base.

When monster gazed into eyes,

his will empowered through the dice,

in cowering fright on floor she crawled

and shivering with eyes red, she bawled,

until her siblings saved her ass

and brought her back to mighty class.

Then from the corner a new beast stirs

and yet another fight is hers.

A hellish spider from the abyss

bit her straight back into paralysis.

A second rescue attempt was made,

lucky for her the fiend took bait.

The wizard, fighter and the scout

dragged her, found a safe way out.

And from the dungeon they fled in shame

just in case a dragon came.

Another great Dungeons & Dragons weekend has passed. And though my part in the game was a failure challenge, it was awesome! Thanks so much, my Xaniqos siblings and great DM. I can’t wait until next time.

You can read all about our adventures on my website Dungeon DuTchess.

The glorious geekiness continues

For the Dungeons & Dragons fans out there, six posts on my blog Dungeon DuTchess, about the adventures we had in the Faerûn Underdark last February:

This weekend, the geekiness continues. 😀

More Dungeons. And Dragons.

While the first spring shower is washing my windows clean – well, at least wet – I finally have an evening to myself. For due to that same rain, the weekly stroll with my two canine buddies was cancelled. One of the ladies is terrified of thunderstorms, so we didn’t dare take the risk. Plus I didn’t want to be sizzled by a stray lightning bolt. The effects are devastating, as you can read in Hallway of Horror.

You see, your DuTchess may have been silent on Figments last week, but I have not been idle! There was another Dungeons and Dragons weekend coming up and I wrote six posts on my site Dungeon Dutchess. The adventures are only a click away…

What happened this weekend, you ask? I’m afraid that will have to wait until next time. But it was very, very exciting. I had to pass an important test in game and was kind of nervous. But while my dice rolling hands were shaking a bit in this world, in Faerûn my faith never wavered. Don’t worry if this all is abracadabra to you. D&D is hard to explain. I guess you just have to play it.  😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: Green

Are you ready for another multi-photo challenge?, Sara Rosso asks. I bet you are :) This time I made it easy for you, with a color. Green. For some of you, in the northern hemisphere, you may not be seeing green for a while. Let’s celebrate all things green!

Share (many) pictures in a gallery which mean GREEN to you!

Faced with this challenge, I started to smile, then grin. I mean, what could be better for someone who is nicknamed The Green Sorceress, or Greeny in short. In my RPG’s I always play a Ranger or Druid. Because I love nature, animals and green. In Dungeons & Dragons I drive the guys to madness because of my choice of companions. Green ones, wolves, horses.

Would you like to see my green choices? A photo of a special plant, called the Ginkgo Biloba, a living fossil, as a unique species recognizable similar to fossils dating back 270 million years. Or simple yet graceful grass? My sweet little green Kaatje, whom I had to say goodbye to last week? Or how about a green waterbed? The Green with a capital G?

Simply click a photo to start the slideshow.

A weekend filled with D&D

The upcoming weekend will be one with dungeons and dragons. With chaotic dark elves and other evil creatures. Spells and fights. With good food and laughter. That’s right, another D&D session is going to unfold.

If you want to follow us on our adventures, you can read the posts I wrote about our last weekend, in Creepy Creeps – where we battle more vermin, followed by The Lizard Rider – with a leading role for our brave fighter Alvra, straight into The Hall of Shadows – where mime and demon ‘play’ together, and last but most certainly not least Charicide – a Bard of grande allure. What will happen to her?

Go ahead. Read, and be drawn into the dark world of the Drow…
