On August 12, 1944, the Germans attacked the Sherman tank ‘Keren’ of the 501st French regiment in Normandy. Three crew members died during the shelling. Their names are Pierre Brediger, Joseph Omnes and Jacques Tubert; they are commemorated on this plaque:

Marion, this reminds me of our memorable trip to Normandy some years ago. So many names of so many dead to keep us all free.
