Hopes, dreams and byways

and so many dreams

I have for you, sweetheart

your road is paved

with solid bricks

in graceful patters

quick, but with imagination

relaxed, yet with passion

and always forward

The road you follow now

has too many curves

to my liking

even dead ends

but tastes differ

you sense life

and feel it your way

I let go of your hand

wave and smile at you

and watch while you take

a different path

with head held high

a byway

that in time

will surely become

your highway

  1. Why does the English language makes the same story/poem even more touching. Love it! x
(and still trying to follow your words…but this morning i failed :-/ )
Little explosion on my side…proves i’m worried (again) i guess 😀

    1. Because deep inside, we are not Dutch, dear Karin… 🙂
Thanks so much, and please, try to stay away from fireworks. Use your worries in a good way by turning them into action. And if that’s not possible, then let go.

  2. Very well written! I love your choice of words. I am following your blog now, if you feel inclined to do so please check out my blog. Once again, beautiful poem!
