My Saturday in six words:
~ TAXES, GET LOST! DIGGING UP MEMORIES. ~
please click the photos for a slideshow
Yesterday, I posted a poem for my dear mother on my Dutch blog, Doldriest: Mom, can I be a child once more? In search of an illustration for that poem, I opened my photo album which I hadn’t seen in years. And found these jewels. So many memories… so in stead of doing my taxes, I’m lost in the past.
Will you search for sweet old memories today too?

Much more fun than stupid taxes!
(That was also six!) 🙂

Haha, indeed! But you know what, Col? I did those taxes afterwards too! Am I a diligent woman or what? 😛

They are, Ann, they take us back to places that get lost in the all-day madness of life.

Lovely pictures and you looked so pretty in that dress and with your hair so special on your first Communion. I’m often busy with my new and old photo’s, digging up memories. There is only one bad thing about this: time goes by so quickly 😉

I absolutely HATED to be dressed like this back then, Karin. And had to sleep with the krullers in my hair all night long. Little sleep that was haha. And my mom would not allow me to wear long stockings, while the rest had. Now I’m glad for that. My gosh, where did that thought come from?!
Hugs, enjoy your photos, dear.

I love digging up the old photos from childhood. Reminds me to force my parents to bring them all out again next time I visit.

YES, you do that, Susan. I will do the same with my parents 😀

Nothing I like better than to drag all the albums out and sit on the bed with them. Time just vanishes. Do it so seldom now, as everything’s online these days.

Indeed, Jo. I have a digital photo frame, but nothing replaces the feeling of an album. All those memories take us to places, that only can be seen in our hearts. And there time does not exist 🙂

Oh thank you, Mariane. My Mom said she still has lots of photos, so I’m going to take a look at them when I travel south again.
Have a nice weekend, dear.

There must be (though very few) such photos of my family, but I have no idea who possesses them. Maybe I’ll call my sister & ask…hmmmmm

Yes, please do. And then post some photos, Rond!

We are also going through old albums to make a picture wall. Great fun but a lot of work!

A picture wall, Judy? Can you tell me more about that? Sounds very interesting 😀

I don’t think I want to be a child again as I didn’t have a very happy childhood- but I do love all b&w photos.
