It was a blazing hot day in Siena, Italy (founded 900–400 BC). The historic center has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is one of the nation’s most visited tourist attractions. Siena is famous for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape and the Palio, a horse race held twice a year. This photo is was shot last summer on our biker holiday and is part of the Piazza del Campo. Here it is in bird’s view, you can see the fountain at the northern end.
