This week’s WordPress photo challenge is guest hosted by Jared Bramblett.
Reflections. This challenge is about using reflections in the composition of a shot. Reflections are all around us, whether they’re in a window, a puddle, a mirror, or another surface. They can dramatically affect the feeling and mood of a shot by creating a surreal sense of duality. Think of a city reflecting in a river, a crowd of people reflecting in the glass pane of a building, or a landscape altered by the placement of a simple glass mirror.
I challenge you to head out and create an image that uses reflections to force the viewer to question and interpret the reality of the shot.
Because of this last sentence, I simply had to choose this one:

You can see the real wind turbine here.
More Reflections over at WordPress. Beware of false mirror images! 😉
White steeled she appears
but underneath this metal
she’s made of gnarled oak 😉
And finally my Broomstick is complete!
Are you ready for something special tonight? No photo, no story or poem, but a video.
As I wrote in the Green Challenge, I had to say goodbye to my beloved green Ford Ka, nicknamed Kaatje. Yes, how original 😉 But with the help of my parents and V-man, I was able to buy this white beauty. Thank you so much!
Fasten your seat belts for a live performance of yours truly, presenting my precious new Broomstick. As you can see I’m a tad bit nervous and excited hehehe. And you can hear V-mans voice in the background.
What do you think?
Show us a photo of natural resources, was Jake Sprinter’s challenge this week. And I am happy he chose this subject. For what is more important than finding and managing natural resources such as land, water, wind, soil, plants and animals in a way that will not affect the quality of life for both present and future generations in a negative way.
Wind is such a natural resource and can be used to generate wind power with these wind turbines.

The WordPress Photo challenge of this week is very similar to the Free Write Friday post I published earlier: Gratitude, where you can read about my reasons to be grateful and thankful.
For this photo challenge I have chosen: PEACE. I am thankful for each country, each region and village, even each house, where peace has won over war. Let’s be thankful for that, and strive for more, much more peace.

Why this peace sign was upside down, is a mystery to me. But you know what? This way it resembles the \/ sign even better.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

Liquid can be mirror-like, translucent and tranquil,
or massive, bubbly and alive. Like our minds…
Ailsa’s challenge this week almost gave me clammy feet. Get your own feet wet at Where’s my backpack!
A warm flood suddenly washes over you – through you – and fills your every fiber with awareness. With thankfulness. Of someone, or something. A kind smile in a supermarket. Rain that stops when you step out of the door. Your son who offers to go grocery hunting for you. You practically seem to glow and shine with an inner light. An aura as flaming as the sun halos your head and ignites a sparkle in your eyes.
Please, stop what you are doing at the moment and take a minute or two to contemplate the things you are grateful for. The people who are special in your lives. Kindness by strangers. And let that warm flood flow through your veins.
Thank you, sweet Mom and Dad, you are and always have been wonderful. Your loving care formed the base of my existence. Brother and sisters, we had fun times together and I’m smiling even thinking of you. And I do so every day. Love you all so much.
Thank you, magical friends, who have made my life worth living. Without you I would have been lost so many times. Thanks, from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you, my sons, for filling my days (and nights) with everlasting joy and… let’s call it challenges. 😉 It is interesting and heart-warming to see you both grow into fine young men. I love you, unconditionally. Even when I’m mad at you.
Thank you, my V-man. For almost five years we are a pair now. And I am proud and grateful for being your choice of heart. My deep love is for you.
Thanks, sweet marvelous people out there. Do you realize what miracles a simple smile can work? No? Try it, and you will see your own smile mirrored all around you.
Gratitude, such a warm feeling. I hope each and every day will be filled with golden moments of gratitude.
Feel free to share your gratitude here. Better yet, tell your loved ones and even complete strangers how you feel. All it takes is a smile… 🙂

Next month the long awaited first part of The Hobbit will be released in theaters around the world:
An Unexpected Journey
In the Netherlands, the premiere will be on December 12th. And I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait. The Lord of the Rings fever is striking again. So I’m going to present you with this fan-made compilation of all trailers and TV spots, arranged chronologically in one video.
~ choose 720p HD quality and watch in full screen if possible ~
Isn’t this awesome? Do you feel it too, the tingle 😀 Let’s go on this Unexpected Journey together.
And here I am, observing the birds in my back yard, chasing each other around to get the best bite of peanuts, sunflower seeds and peanut butter.
Gloriously relaxed, watching Monk, while sipping tea.
Not at work slaving away, but home. Sweet home.
On top of that, tonight is the Guardian Angel Tour 2012 of Alanis Morissette in Tilburg. A concert I’ve been looking forward to for months! A concert that is sold out! The only concert she gives here in Holland! A concert I have two tickets to! 😀
I am one lucky woman.
I also have a cold, flu, whatever, wich makes my head and throat hurt. My muscles ache. My stamina back to zero and my eyes water. Stupid germs, bacteria and viruses that are torturing my body so I can’t hear Alanis sing live in front of me tonight… I am
pissed off and raving mad most disappointed. But above all, I’m sad.
A lady friend will accompany my partner to Tilburg in my place. Please enjoy triple for me? *hugs*
So here I am, observing the birds in my back yard, chasing each other around to get the best bite of peanuts, sunflower seeds and peanut butter.
PS. Here’s a photo my friend sent me during the concert. She also called me three times to let me hear the music. I only heard a lot of noise and applause, but was touched by her gesture.
