Weekly Photo Challenge: Big

Sara Rosso has thought of another photo challenge this week:

It’s larger than life, it’s unexpected, it’s the protagonist in a scene. It’s big. It often helps to have some normal object as part of the scene so people can understand the scale, as I did in this picture of a GIANT mortadella in the grocery store. It must have been 10 feet long. Share a picture which means BIG to you!

Well, I have three answers to this riddle. Quest. Thing.

Sorry, I have been in a Lord of the Rings mood all week.

First of all a gigantic pylon

I had to search for this word, is it the right one? Or should it be ‘pole’?

Is this big or what? Near the bottom you can see the top of the trees that were standing close.

And if you are convinced that dragons are extinct, then think again please. Because they live near the pylon in the first photo. Right here in Holland!

This must be an adult male, it was towering over us. And looked hungry.

We also expect Bigfeet to live in the Netherlands, and as a special sign of welcome we have prepared a  wooden shoe for them: the Bigfoot Clog!

If you are interested in finding out more about clogs, you can read The History of Dutch Wooden Clogs

Have a big weekend! 😉

Care to check out other competitors? Over at WordPress is awesome greatness!

Caretaker of males, both human and feline. No lady, but all woman. Avid reader and photographer. Determined to find writing time during busy days. And nights if needed. Because I need you to meet the wonderful people who are living in my mind.

          1. Sure Marion! I’ll be right there… But it’s going to be in the USA! I do hope to visit The Netherlands again and will reach out to you if/when I do. Invite extended if you come to the USA. . 🙂

  1. Oh my that dragon is FANTASTIC and with the gondolas perfectly shows the scale and bigness of it. Lovely image for this weekes theme 🙂

    1. First of all, congratulations on those Awards, Cher 😀

And thank you so much for offering me the same, that is so sweet of you. But I can’t accept them for the following reason:

On awards: I’m so sorry, but I can’t accept awards. Nominations really do mean a LOT to me. But all of us bloggers, writers, photographers, poets, funny and serious people, we all share our thoughts and creativity – our souls in many cases! – and in my eyes all are equal in that. Thank you kindly for understanding.
