You’ve got a friend

Carol King. I was very fortunate to see her perform in Amsterdam, somewhere in the eighties. Not my eighties though 😛

Today I want to dedicate this song to my friends – especially to Paula and Jules. And to anyone who needs a friend tonight…

Will you sing with me?

    1. Carol’s voice is still so strong, so typical, and the male singer has a great voice too!
Thanks for lifting my spirits up today, Paula, and for sending me that beautiful song Ocean Gypsy.
      Hugs,

  1. For some reason I am still not getting the updates in my mail my friend, so thank you for sending this along and also for thinking of me during this time. Love you and I love Carole King. Many of these songs were from the 70’s and a big part of my life then. Always good to hear her sing even today. ((hugs)) Much love.

    1. You can always check out my ‘Recent posts’ on the right side of the screen, Jules. I’m sorry that the notifications won’t travel westwards.
Back then, music was different than now. More pure, catching tunes and beautiful lyrics. I love the music from that time. Like James Taylor, Jackson Brown.
Sing every day, lovely lady, I know you love to do that. And I will always listen.
      Love you to pieces,

        1. When you’re down and troubled
And you need some loving care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again
          Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
          And I’ll be there
          You’ve got a friend

          If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
          Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you’ll hear me knocking at your door

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you
          Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
          And I’ll be there

Ain’t it good to know that you’ve got a friend
When people can be so cold
They’ll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don’t you let them

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again
          Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
          And I’ll be there
          You’ve got a friend
