Death, back off

Death, back off!
Why can’t you just leave them be?
You always seem to need more,
lure people into your cold embrace.

What did you promise them huh,
why do you need more souls,
souls who are still needed here on earth?
Isn’t it getting crowded at your place?

Death, you are a wicked terrible host.
Your hospitality is false, a mirage
your smile is ice, your arms do not shelter.
You destroy families, life and love.

Death, give mercy when needed
peace and rest when time has come.
But keep your hands off the others
step back Death, back off!
